Best solution for adding links in comments for affiliate marketing
After posting 100,000+ Reddit comments for ourselves and clients, we’ve learned that adding links in affiliate marketing requires careful strategy to avoid removals.
🚫 What Not to Do
- Never add affiliate links directly in your comments.
Reddit’s filters are highly sensitive to affiliate tracking links and will almost always remove your comment.
✅ Safer Alternatives (Bridge Pages)
- Medium Articles
- Publish an article on Medium and link to that instead of your raw affiliate URL.
- Medium is trusted by Reddit, rarely banned, and has a very high stick rate.
- Reddit Profile Posts
- Create a post on your own Reddit profile and place your affiliate/landing link there.
- Then in your comment, just link to your profile post.
- Since this is Reddit’s own platform, these links fly under the radar and usually have an excellent stick rate.
- Claude (Landing Page Hosting)
- Host your landing page or content on Claude, which also has a good survival rate on Reddit.
- Reddit’s filters tend to give less scrutiny to Claude links compared to regular brand or affiliate domains.
- Using a bridge page, you can drive readers from Reddit → Medium/Reddit post/Claude article → Affiliate link safely.
Pro Tips
- Write the Medium or Reddit profile post or Claude post like a helpful guide or review, not a sales pitch or AI-generated content. Reddit users prefer genuine content.
- If you absolutely must mention your domain in the comments, consider using a non-clickable format (e.g.,
example.com) so it bypasses filters. Here's how you can do it.
