How to assign a comment to the OP of a thread?

How it works

  • The comment will be posted from the same Reddit account that created the thread.
  • This works for any thread posted via CrowdReply.
  • Useful for:
    • Adding follow-up context
    • Answering questions as the OP
    • Making the thread look more active and natural

If you want to assign a comment task so that it’s posted by the **OP (Original Poster), **the person who started the Reddit thread, just follow these steps:

Steps:

  1. Copy the Thread URL:

Find the main Reddit thread you want to comment on. Copy its URL (not a comment link—use the thread’s main URL).

  1. Create a “Comment Task”:

In CrowdReply, create a new Comment Task and paste the thread URL into the “Thread URL”field.

  1. Assign to OP:
  2. If the thread was originally posted by one of your own accounts, CrowdReply will detect it and show a message (like in the screenshot you uploaded) letting you assign the comment task to that same OP account.
  3. You’ll see an option like:

“This thread was posted by [username]. Would you like to assign this task to them?”

  1. Select this option if you want the OP to be the commenter.

Summary:

  • Use the thread URL (not a comment URL).
  • **Assign the task to the OP. **It will show you when this is possible.

Important note

In some cases, the OP account may not be detected.

If this happens, it usually means the account has been suspended or banned by Reddit and can no longer be used for posting or commenting.
