Adding upvotes to a new comment on a new thread

If you want to boost a new comment with upvotes, thread age matters for Reddit’s filters.

New Threads (Less Than 30 Days Old)

Safe to Send Bulk Upvotes

You can safely send a large number of upvotes to your comment instantly. Reddit’s spam filters are much more lenient with new threads, so there’s little risk of your comment being removed.

Pro Tip:

The newer the thread, the safer it is to send upvotes quickly.

How to Add Upvotes

  • Go to CrowdReply and place your upvote order on the comment.
  • Instant upvotes are safe to use on new threads.

Older Threads (More Than 30 Days Old)

Safe Strategy

For comments on older threads, do not send upvotes immediately.

Based on extensive testing:

  • Let the comment age at least 10–14 days
  • After this period, you can safely send all upvotes in one go
  • Sending upvotes earlier has a high risk of triggering Reddit’s sitewide filters

Why?

Reddit is highly suspicious of new comments on old threads that receive engagement too quickly. Once the comment has aged past ~10 days, Reddit becomes significantly more lenient. Learn more here.

Note

These are guidelines based on real-world testing. Reddit doesn’t publish official rules, so when in doubt, waiting longer is always safer.
